“Block the shortcuts in His Temple”

Ever in history, Jesus been preached as a man of love, kindness, mercy etc. It is sure his ministry of 3 years depicts, that he is so. But the final week shows a different scenario. On Monday of the passion week, Jesus entered into the Temple courts and acted revolutionary. But an amazing thought which most of us have less noticed, is his blocking of the shortcut way, which was used for business logistics in the Jerusalem temple courts. Mark records it in 11th chapter 16th verse. I have been moved to understand this message for today’s Church.

The temple of the Lord, refers the dwelling place of God, according to Bible, we could see 4 phases in God’s selection of His dwelling place. In Phase 1, God selected the garden of Eden, in phase 2, God selected the tabernacle, in phase 3, God selected the Jerusalem temples, in phase 4, God selected the human body. So today, we are the temple of God. God does not dwell in the man made buildings but he deserves his own made bodies.

What does the shortcut means in today’s context. In Jerusalem temple, the shortcut were used by the merchandise men for their logistics. Today, as the same way, many in us use Christianity as a shortcut for their own profits. It is obvious in church, ministries, families and in society. So there is an inevitable need of cleansing and blocking the shortcuts. The shortcuts of, Misusing the powers vested on us, Corrupting the church with human thoughts, Leading the flocks with deceptions, Building self kingdoms instead of the kingdom of God, Prioritizing money in Leadership hunts etc. It is heartbreaking on seeing the today’s church which always measures God’s work by means of haves and have not rather talents, visions, dedications.

Where we are? these shortcuts have opened the ways for many to climb to top of the church What’s needed today? a movement in one word ‘REVIVAL’ to block the shortcuts in the temple. May the Lord use you for this breakthrough! God bless You
